Who Should Not Take Apoquel
Per the FDA-approved Apoquel label, oclacitinib is not for use in dogs under 12 months of age, dogs with serious infections, or breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs. Because Apoquel modulates the immune system, it may increase susceptibility to infection (including demodicosis) and has been associated with the development or exacerbation of neoplastic (tumor) conditions in some dogs.
